AllStar Game Plan and Vacation Schedule for July 2021

A note from Coach KC:

From the depths of my heart thank you for helping out extra at the gym so our family can go on a vacation together! Last trip we took together was in 2018 we went to Japan. We will now be on a once in a lifetime adventure to the Grand Canyon rafting the Colorado River, 250 miles in the wilderness with our kids and friends. Woohoo! We will have no internet or cell phone service from July 5 to July 21. With that in mind, I have organized amazing mangers and rock star substitute/guest coaches for the gym to run smoothy in my absence. See below for all the details. Each of you are the ‘eyes and ears’ of the gym. Let a manger or coach know if anything is off, unsafe, or out of place. If you think anything needs tending to let us know. Need to place a hold, update a credit card, renew or purchase membership? See instructions below. We appreciate your love for the gym, and know you care about it as much as we do. With appreciation - KC

Manager Responsibilities:

  • Listening and trouble shooting to client needs
  • Double checking each day that attendance is correct. ‘Checking in’ anyone who showed up to class but the coach forgot to check in, and following up with anyone who reserved a space but didn’t show up (it’s a 50 burpee penalty remember!)
  • Assisting members with their Zen Planner App, signing up new members or helping members renew
  • Populating CompTrain workouts to SugarWOD
  • Re-assigning staff on Zen Planner if coaches switch classes
  • Managing the environment, making sure trash cans are emptied, cleaning supplies are restocked, gym is clean and in safe working order
  • Notifying property manager in case of any emergency (example window break or plumbing leak hopefully we won’t have any of those!)
  • Taking note of any action items KC needs to tend to upon her return, writing down in staff notebook
  • Posting 2-3 social media highlights per week featuring our members

What the manager is NOT expected to do:

  • Take any abuse from a member or visitor (Duh!)
  • Fix any plumbing (we will call a professional)
  • Repair any equipment (for same reason as plumbing)
  • Maintain our website
  • Act as medical professional (always call 911 or have athlete go to the ER/doctor if and athlete gets injured)
  • Financial Deposits (most all of them are automated)
  • Any cleaning beyond daily maintenance (we have a window professional)
  • Trouble shoot major issues (refer to property manager)

Coaching Staff:

The AllStar Coaching Staff has always been the rockstar spotlight of the gym, and our July guest coaching staff and substitute staff is no exception! Coach Scott, Coach Malia, and Coach KC will all be on vacation during various parts of July. Our entire CFAS Coaching community has come together (past coaches, present, and new intern coaches) to help you have the best experience possible! Expect a Re-Mix of Pele Kaio, Cheryl Brost, Debi Wright (Open Gym), along with regular flavors of Kayah Ignacio, Zoe Salazar, Ariel Lindsey along with Scott Yoel & Malia Brown when they return. Please give a warm welcome to our new intern coaches Franco Acquaro and Lisa Longley who will be leading some afternoon classes as well! FUN! It’s exciting to have such great leadership at the box enjoy all these wonderful people!

Workouts:

We will continue with the CompTrain brand of programming for the time being. These are the workouts that we upload onto our SugarWOD whiteboard. CompTrain has decided to divide their daily workouts into 3 categories: Compete, Train, and Sweat. For now, we will only post the ‘Compete’ workout…the most challenging. Those who need to can scale based on the options given or create your own. In the future we may post all 3 variations of the CompTrain WOD, or we may switch programs all together, we are still deciding. For JULY we will host 1 CompTrain general programming workout per day like usual.

Membership Holds:

We can ‘hold’ membership for a minimum of 2 weeks and up to 3 months for the calendar year. We do not do ‘infinate’ holds, we will need the starting date and ending date. 2 weeks notice is requested to hold, so we can be sure to stop payment. While KC is away, all hold requests will be filed by the manger, and inputted upon KC’s return at the end of July. If you know you’ll need a hold in July please notify KC THIS WEEK so we can be sure to get it on hold. You won’t miss any days, either way.

Update Credit Cards or Change Payment Information:

You can easily update your payment information right from you Zen Planner member app or you computer. In the App, click on the little ‘3 dot’ icon in the far upper left corner. Then click on ‘View Profile’…….scroll down to ‘payment method’ and add a credit card or bank account. Then click on ‘pay bills’ and pay any bills you have. If you need assistance please ask a manager before or after class.

New Memberships:

Managers can add new memberships, or teach you how to do this right from your app or our website. You can purchase ‘drop ins’, the 1 Year Massive Star, or the month to month Galaxy. Kids or college age students can also purchase memberships via the manager.

New Prospects or Bringing Friends To Class:

As always, feel free to bring a friend or family member to class for free! Just have them sign up right from our website schedule. Click on the class, fill our the Zen Planner account information, and have them click on ‘Free Trial Class’. Mahalo for your referrals! If they would like to sign up please guide them to a manger.

COVID-19 Protocols:

We will continue to clean and sanitize solid non-porous surfaces like metal barbells, pull up bars, rowers, metal and plastic weight plates, markers, dumbbells, rings, kettlebells and the like. We will no longer lysol spray porous rubber surfaces (rubber bumper plates) due to the evidence that viruses are more likely to be transmitted via air or non-pours surfaces. We will continue to lysol disinfect the rubber floor however. Continue to sanitize your hands frequently. We recommend getting vaccinated as soon as you are able to. We recommend masks for unvaccinated individuals. Temp checks will no longer be taken at the door, we require you to stay away from the gym if you’re not feeling well or have a temperature.
